My Mommy!

November 19, 2007

We were having an awesome session, UNTIL we photographed brother Drake and Mommy together! Little sister Malia had a meltdown! She’s very protective of her mommy and nobody but Malia gets to be with her except Malia. It took a little while and, with the help of mommy’s pretty necklace, we recovered and captured some more cute images!

They Grow Up So Fast

November 17, 2007

It has been a couple of years since I have photographed these guys! Though they look the same, they have gotten SO tall and much more grown up! They are still wild and crazy! They just never stop…I’m completely worn out just watching them. There is no slowing down, or sitting still! I guess that’s how they stay so skinny!

Baby Sister!

November 15, 2007

Elyse entered the world a little small, but she’s definitely a tough fighter! At two and a half months old, she’s conquered 7 pounds! Those bright blue eyes just shine like sapphires, and every once in a while you’ll see a nice gummy toothless smile.

Jacob may be a rough and tumble three year old, but he is so sweet to his baby sister. Get him on his own and he is all boy! He loved hamming it up for the camera!

Not All Plans Go Smoothly

November 14, 2007

Mommy was completely stressed out by the time Luke & Mae arrived for their portrait session. She’d gone shopping and wasn’t able to find that perfect outfit that she had been looking for. Though it was only 9:30, it had been a long morning, getting everyone cleaned, fed and looking their best! After everyone was ready (in what I think ended up being pretty cute outfits), Mae started having a meltdown. Now, we were entering nap time! No worries, Mae pulled it together long enough to give us some cute images!

Kids Say The Darndest Things!

November 13, 2007

Faith kept saying, “I want to take pictures by myself.” Well, we had started out with the family, so of course that made sense. So after the family images, we started taking some of Faith by herself. She continued to say, “I want to take pictures by myself.” At first, I couldn’t figure it out. Then it dawned on me, she wanted to use my camera and take the pictures herself! Needless to say, that didn’t happen! Maybe we have a future photographer on our hands!

Much Improved

November 11, 2007

Compared to Faith’s six month session, her nine month session was a breeze! Things did not go very well during her six month session. It was nap time and she was hungry. She wanted to do nothing, but be held and cuddled! Her nine month session – she was a performer – hamming it up for the camera, showing off those big smiles!

November 10, 2007

Pete and I, along with our friends Kimberly and Shawn, attended the Garth Brooks concert last night! AWESOME!! AWESOME!! Garth has to be my all time favorite artist. This was the third time I have seen him in concert, and he did not let me down! Even though he’s been "retired" for many years, he was still young, full of life and energy on stage!

We had the best seats! Directly to the right of stage, just above the stage. A perfect view! Garth was on stage for about two and a half hours. He sang all of his most famous songs, his newest song and some crowd favorites. For his second encore, he came out by himself with just a guitar and sang a bunch of oldies, but goodies, including James Taylor, George Straight and American Pie!

Of course, the best move of the night was from yours truly! You’re not allowed to bring professional cameras into the Sprint Center, only non-professional, "small" cameras with a non-detachable lens. I have a small point and shoot camera, but I don’t use it very often. So as I was getting it ready for the concert last night, checking the battery (which I never did figure out if it was charged or not), and I mistakenly left the compact flash card right where I had left it – next to my computer! I take my camera out of my pocket at the show to see what kind zoom I can get, and to my frustration, there’s no memory card! Which means, the only photos I got of the evening, are in my head! So FRUSTRATING!!

Oh well, the concert will forever live on in my head…next time he does a concert, I will not forget the memory card!

Tummy Time!

November 9, 2007

I asked Mommy how Xander was doing on his tummy, and her response was “Umm, not so well.” I’m always willing to give anything a try, so I suggested that we put him on his tummy anyway. Xander must have wanted to show up his mommy, because he performed like a champ! Trying so hard to get his head high up in the air. Though it may not have been perfect, he was too cute!

Happy Baby!

November 7, 2007

Lily was in the best mood for her portrait session! She was all grins and giggles! She may be a speed demon when it comes to crawling, but she always had a smile on her face…even if she was racing for the camera at 60 mph!

An Obsession with Vacuum Cleaners

November 6, 2007

Tallon may only be four years old, but he is very knowledgeable about vacuum cleaners! We had just started into the session, and I was asking him questions, when he stopped me. "I have to tell you something. I love vacuum cleaners. Can I see yours?" he asked me. This made me laugh, but he was dead serious! He told me that he owns 18 vacuum cleaners at home, and he has a growing savings fund for more. When asked which one was his favorite, he replied, "All of them – I love them all."

His brother, Evan, on the other hand, has no time to slow down to check out vacuum cleaners! He’s on the go, checking everything out.
