Princess Pebbles

May 31, 2008

Pebbles had a spa date today for her birthday! She got a bath and blow dry, and stylish new bows. No haircut this time, which does make for a bit of a ‘fro when she first comes home.

Pebs received a very large, round chick toy from her favorite cousin, Libby! I think Joey was feeling left out, because he’s been playing with the chick. Aren’t they cute?!? (Not that I’m biased at all!)

Pebbles Turns TWO!

May 30, 2008

Today is Pebbles’ second birthday! She is still very much a puppy, but she’s starting to calm down!

Pete has been taking Pebbles and Joey to training classes, mainly for socialization, exercise and training "of daddy." They have a blast, and have even been learning some agility skills! Last night, the training class celebrated Pebbles’ birthday by having doggie ice cream with sprinkles, and she got a fun princess hat toy!

I think she likes her new toy! Happy Birthday, Pebs!!

Babies Galore!

May 28, 2008

There must be something in the air! It’s funny how things always seem to come in waves…one of those things for me right now is newborn babies. Last year, August was a crazy month for new babies – this year, May seems to be taking the cake. Charleigh was my fourth newborn session in less than a week! And…I know I still have at least one more to go!

The magic word with newborn sessions is patience. Sometimes the baby will be completely cooperative and hold still for you. Even if the are awake it’s okay – as long as their arms and legs aren’t constantly kicking and punching. Other times, you just can’t get the little one to hold still, no matter what you do!

The latter was the case with Miss Charleigh. She was cozy when she was being cuddled by Daddy, but as soon as we set her down, those arms and legs were going every which way. After some milk, some cuddling, some binky time, some extra heat and a lot of patience, Charleigh fell asleep. I love it when this happens, because you can position their arms and legs anyway you want – perfect for covering up areas you don’t want to see!

Isn’t she precious? The patience was worth it!

She Knows Her Animals!

May 27, 2008

Ask Katie any animal and she can tell you what sound they are, what color they are and can even act them out! During our session she was everything from a cat, to a lion, to a turtle to a giraffe! We had a blast playing, spinning, dancing, tickling and laughing during her session!

Katie is quite the talker…I’m pretty sure the only time she’s quiet is when she’s sleeping…but that made it so much fun. I got to hear about her trip to Jamaica’Mon, and all about her fish, Admiral, and her mean hamster, Gus-Gus, who bites her, and of course don’t forget her dog, Abby!

Finally…Nice Weather!

May 26, 2008

Unlike her sister, Kara LOVES to be outdoors. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to photograph Kara’s sister, Lauren, when she graduated from Kindergarten. This year, it was Kara’s turn to be the star of the show!

Big sister, Lauren, hates bugs and everything else that goes with an outdoor setting. Little sister, Kara, loved the wind blowing through her hair. She gave me great smiles and great expressions – showing off those many missing teeth, with a few new ones starting to show.

Two Groomsmen & A Wedding Dress

May 26, 2008

It took me two full days (and two very late nights), but I finally finished the wedding slide show for my sister and her new husband! The Kansas City reception is this weekend, and I had to have it done and ready for reveal at the reception.

In the meantime, here are a few more sneak peek images to share!

Friends of Scott’s since high school, Josh and Jeremy, traveled from Alabama and Georgia to Jamaica to be Scott’s groomsmen! The few free nights before the wedding gave us the opportunity to get to know each other. We had a blast hanging out together, talking, drinking island drinks and having fun late into the night! I found out that Josh is a blog stalker! Ever since he saw Scott’s photo on my blog last fall, he regularly stalks my blog on the prowl for more Scott sightings! This is for you, Josh!

I know some of you heard the saga of Lori’s wedding gown! I won’t go into the lengthy craziness of it all…but the short story is… Lori’s dress finally arrived the morning before our flight was to leave for Jamaica…less than 24 hours before we were to step on the plane. Of course, it needed to be altered, so we grabbed the dress from the store and ran over to the alterations gal. Unfortunately, it needed to be taken in almost everywhere! They worked a miracle for us, and by 5 PM, Lori had a perfectly fitted dress! I’m sure I don’t even have to tell you, but you can imagine the stress, tears and frustration that went into the arrival of "the dress." But, in the end, it was all worth it! Isn’t it just perfect for her? I may be biased, being her sister, but I think she made a beautiful bride!

Some Chub!

May 23, 2008

There’s nothing I love more than chubby babies! How can you not love all those rolls…it’s the only time you can be chubby and it’s cute! Matthew has definitely been putting on the chub – check out his chubby baby cheeks!

America’s Next Top Model!

May 22, 2008

Abby may only be two years old…but she is ready to be on America’s Next Top Model. She has her poses down! Not sure who’s been teaching her these moves, but once she got in front of the camera, the moves came out. Her favorite one was to have her back to me, then whip her head around and give me a very coy smile! It was quite hilarious to watch…check out the resulting adorable images!

Warming Up

May 22, 2008

Christgen usually takes a while to warm up when he comes out for his sessions. He’s always very intrigued by everything in the studio, and loves to look around. This time he was quite interested in the ceiling. After studying it for quite some time, he was willing to turn his attention towards the camera. He slowly warmed up, and started flashing me some cute smiles.

Isabella must like daddy’s deep voice, because, while daddy was holding her, she kept doing these adorable grins! Typically a grin on a newborn baby means watch out below, something’s coming! But not with Isabella, her grins just meant she was happy!

Isabella put up with a lot from us the day of her session. Her bracelet kept falling off or sliding up her arm, so we’d pull it down. Her bow kept getting turned wrong or pushed her ears down, so we’d have to fiddle with it! Through it all she was a trooper! She’d fuss a little bit, but then settle right down and be ready to model.

Doesn’t she look like she’s going to be cooking up some trouble?
