If I Must!
Getting his photo taken was not Joshua’s idea of fun! But he put on the shirt, and let us roll his sleeves – so he was stylish – and even pulled out the charm.
He spent a good amount of the session talking to me, telling me all about dinosaurs and his bike. He said he’s the funniest member of the family, but then couldn’t remember any good jokes to tell me. He counted down every last image that I took, to make sure I was only taking the number that I told him!

Loving Baby Rachel
Miss Rachel is adored by her family! She is definitely the center of their world. From the minute they walked in the door, everyone was loving on her, admiring her and making her smile. Rachel just eats it up!

Fun with Dad
I had a lot of fun photographing the Levitt family. They are truly a smiley, happy family!
Dad tried to be all stiff and serious, with small smiles. In reality, he is such a joker and kidder, and with a little bit of pinching and prodding, I was able to get dad’s real personality to emerge.
Dad’s are so much fun to photograph, because they will always start out so serious, but there are so many things you can say or do that make them bust out with smiles or turn red from embarrassment! Thanks for being an awesome sport, Steve!

All Smiles!
Ashlyn is into sports! She does volleyball, track, cross country, swimming, and those are just the ones I can remember! She may be competitive, but she’s all smiles! There is not a serious, mean side of Ashlyn, even on the court or track she’s all smiles!
She was such a great sport! It was HOT! Okay, so not so much hot as ridiculously humid. But Ashlyn walked all over with me, climbed in the weeds and the flowers, cuddled with her very hot dog, Hershey, and kept on smiling!

Ready, Set…Stuck!
Matthew is very close to crawling, and he so wants to crawl. He gets up on all fours and sways back and forth and back and forth. He just hasn’t quite figured out what to do next. It’s too cute, because he looks so proud of himself, but he just can’t figure out what to do now!
And check out that adorable little white tooth sticking out of his bottom gums!

Summer Olympics XXIX
I wish I didn’t have to work all day, because watching these Olympics just sucks you in! I absolutely, love it! I think it is so fun to watch these extremely committed athletes succeed and shine. (I don’t have an athletic competition bone in my body!)
But Geez, Louise, who has that much free time to sit around watching Olympics all day! I almost wish they would spread them out over a month or longer, so I could enjoy them more.
My method for watching the Olympics – I record the five to six hours that are on during Primetime, and then around 9 PM at dinnertime, Pete and I sit down and watch as much as possible, fast forwarding through all commercials, all human interest stories, and all the LIVE standing around waiting for scores! Yes, I know I’m missing some interesting things, but I want to see as much of the action as possible.
I do have to say, my favorites to watch are gymnastics, swimming and diving, and I’m looking forward to the track and field events.
Go Team USA!

Hard Headed
Mommy had warned me that youngest daughter, Gabriella, was a bit hard headed and liked to do her own thing. She wasn’t kidding! Gabriella wanted nothing to do with taking photos with mommy’s belly. She always wanted to be three to five feet away, doing her own thing. She’d flash me a great smile and a fun expression, but she wasn’t in the photo.
With lots of bribing, tricking and even some begging, we got everyone in the same photo!
Meanwhile, big sister Madeleine did awesome! It is so hard to behave and cooperate, when little sister is doing her own thing, but Maddie stuck it out and pulled through for us!
Little brother is in for a treat with two, fun loving sisters!

Chunky Monkey
I’m sure you know that I LOVE chubby babies! They are just so cute and squeezable! Jack was no different. At just over two months, he’s weighing in around 12-13 pounds. You can certainly tell just by looking at his cute double chin, chunky thighs and rolly arms. He displays his chub proudly!
Jack was very interested in where I was and where the camera was. His eyes followed me all around, whether I was standing above him or to the side, he could find me! Which resulted in some great images showing off his big, blue eyes. It did make it difficult to capture different angles of him, but as always, we made it work!

There Are No Filters…
…when it comes to kids and what they will say! They aren’t trying to be mean or bad, they just speak what’s on their mind, without really understanding what they are saying.
Miss Ellen came in for her three year session, and during this time she said a few things that completely cracked me up. We were talking about how old she was, and I said that three is old. She said "No. It’s not." So, I asked her if Daddy was old. She replied with a "no". I asked if Mommy was old, and she replied with a "yes." I asked if I was old, and she again replied with a "yes." Neither Mommy or I are very old, so I’m not sure where she got that crazy idea!
Then we were talking about animal sounds, and I asked her what sound a frog makes. Evidently, I had already asked that one, because she told me "you already said that one." I don’t think there was going to be any humoring me. She was going to tell me exactly how it was!

Relaxing Bahamas Cruise
Nope, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth! I went on a relaxing, sun-filled Bahamas cruise! One last get away before the craziness of the holiday season hits full force!
Pete and I took a Bahamas cruise out of Miami with our friends Kimberly and Shawn. The goal of the cruise was to relax, and that’s exactly what we did…lots of laying in the sun (or shade) by the pool and the ocean, a little bit of touristy shopping and exploring, even some bike riding, lots of eating, and some more laying by the pool.
We spent a day in Miami, traveled to Nassau, Bahamas, had a stop on the private Royal Caribbean island Cococay, and explored Key West, Florida. The weather could not have been more perfect, warm and sunny with no rain in sight.

And…is this not the coolest? I found a Starbucks in the Bahamas!

Now, I’m back and will be getting caught up, ready to hit the ground running, when the studio is back open on Tuesday.
