Our Pets On Display!

February 27, 2009

Photography by Brandi portraits now adorn all the walls of Blackbob Pet Hospital in Olathe!

Blackbob Pet Hospital is home to our favorite veterinarians, groomers and trainers! They treat Pebbles and Joey just like they are one of their own.

Joey, Pebbles, some of the Blackbob Pet Hospital employees’ “kids” and a few of our favorites from last year now decorate the lobby, hallway and exam rooms! We feel very blessed to have this opportunity to hang these beautiful portraits for all to see!

Smiley Lila!

February 26, 2009

From the moment she came in the door, Lila was full of smiles. Small, smirkey smiles and big, gummy smiles. It didn’t make any difference to her, she just wanted to express her joy! Though not proficient at sitting or tummy time yet, Lila has the standing thing down! With a little assistance from mommy, she is standing proud and tall!

Never Mind

February 25, 2009

This is Laney’s newest favorite saying. She puts her arms out, shrugs her shoulders and says “never mind”. She uses this phrase mostly when she’s thinking about something, starts to say it out loud and then changes her mind or forgets what she was going to say. Since we talked a LOT during her session, I got to hear “never mind” quite frequently, but it’s SO cute!

Laney was full of energy during her four year session. She was striking poses, jumping in the air, spinning in circles and talking my ear off! We had a blast!

Amongst the kiddos, I must be known as the sucker queen! After a session, I always give the kiddos suckers. It is amazing how many kids remember a year ago, when they received a sucker. They even know where the secret stash is, and they don’t forget to remind me! Laney was no different. One of the first things she asked was if she got a sucker. Not to worry, after an awesome session, she deserved her sucker!

I’ve been Isaac’s photographer since he was a newborn five years ago, so he’s very possessive of me. A couple years back, we determined that Isaac does a lot better at his photo sessions when he has me all to himself. So our strategy has been to photograph Isaac alone, while sister, Caroline, relaxes outside with papa. Then we do a switch!

This year, we also wanted some photographs of brother and sister together. Let me tell you, Isaac and Caroline have TONS of energy! Alone, they are a lot to handle, but together it is pure craziness! They completely egg each other on. When one’s running circles between my background and the wall, the other one quickly joins in! It does make for a challenging and entertaining session. However, don’t get me wrong, they are really sweet to each other, and care very much for each other. At one point, we had them sitting on a stool, and Isaac wasn’t too excited about it. Caroline turned to him and said, “It’s all right Isaac”. Very sweet!

February 20, 2009

This was Carter’s favorite word during his three year session. If it wasn’t no, then it was “I don’t know”. Every question I asked him got the same answer, “I don’t know”. What’s your cat’s name? “I don’t know”. What color is your bedroom? “I don’t know”.

I couldn’t help but laugh at him most of the time, because he was just adamant that he did not know. Which I know is totally not true!

We had a great time, laughing at each other and giving each other a hard time!

Chunky, Hairy & Fussy!

February 19, 2009

It doesn’t matter what words you use to describe Evan, he’s a cutie! He was born weighing in at 9 pounds 4 ounces, which accounts for the chunky thighs and arms and his little round face. He has lots of areas to squeeze and love! He was also born with a lot of hair, not just on his head, but on his back, on his ears, on his shoulders and even some hairy eyebrows. The hair just makes each little part even that much more adorable!

Evan’s been having a hard time figuring the eating thing out, so he was a bit fussy during his newborn session. That never stops us, though! We just try blankets and binkies, different positions and cuddling…all of it resulted in adorable images of baby Evan!

Even if your schedule is more flexible, the sooner you get on the calendar, the easier it is to get you the perfect appointment day and time. Just drop me a line and let me know what you are thinking!

Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2009

Joey & Pebbles are wishing you lots of love, hugs and kisses this Valentine’s Day!

February 13, 2009

I have been blessed to be Miss Grace’s photographer since before she was born! Not only photographing her parents during pregnancy, but capturing her tiny parts as a newborn. Every year she grows before my very eyes, getting taller, smarter and more outgoing!

For Christmas, Santa brought Miss Grace a new puppy! He’s a very furry Bichon/Poodle mix born in September. Miss Grace named him Buddy. I think it fits him perfectly.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to be able to capture Buddy’s “newborn” photos. Upon arrival, we all sat down on the floor, letting Buddy get comfortable and relaxed. He wandered around the studio, smelling every little nook and cranny. He greeted me multiple times with lots of puppy love and puppy breath! After a short while, Buddy was relaxed and ready to start striking poses.

What a cutie! Doesn’t his hair totally look like he stuck his finger in the electric socket? I love puppy hair craziness!

The Flirt

February 12, 2009

From the moment Jodi came in the door, he was staring me down and checking me out. He must have decided I was worthy…because he started flirting! He was giving me coy smiles and looking at me through his long eyelashes! His expressions were just too cute!

Since we always do a family portrait, with his family all around me, there were many helpers in the camera room during his session. Jodi thought he was hot stuff, because he had plenty of people staring at him, entertaining and performing for him. His eyes just didn’t know where to look! But that didn’t stop him from turning on the charm!
