Head Down Speed Crawling

April 7, 2009

Give Chase some open space, and she is out of here! She looks at you, tucks that head down and just barrels forward. I have no idea how she doesn’t run smack into anything. She keeps her head tucked down looking straight at the ground, and never lifts it to make sure she knows where she’s going.

Though we spent a lot of time running after her, we did get Chase to pause enough to capture some adorable images of her! She absolutely loves peek-a-boo, and would just crack up laughing every time we did a peeeek-aaa-boo!

Suckers Are This Photographer’s Best Friend

April 6, 2009

I know you’ve seen blog posts from me before, where I talk about the sucker saving the day. Well, I tell you what…it happened again!

Avery just turned two, and that can be a challenging age. Sometimes two year olds are into their session, striking poses and chatting your ear off. At other times, they are very shy and reserved. To start off her session, Avery fell into the shy and reserved category. She was very sweet and pretty cooperative, but she just didn’t want to smile or show her personality. We tried lots of tricks, but none of them really worked…until I pulled out the suckers! Wow, cooperative, animated, talkative, smiley! A different child for sure!

Now, Avery’s younger brother, Bennett, was not a challenge at all! From the moment he walked in the door, he was showing off his sitting skills and he was flashing big gummy smiles my way. He was just as happy as could be. Though, I’m pretty sure, as we discovered during the family time, his favorite past time is pulling big sister’s hair. I think there might be some foreshadowing of the pesky little brother who loves his big sister!

Training Day!

April 5, 2009

Now that it is starting to warm up outside, Pebbles, Joey & Pete have jumped back into their obedience and agility training classes! We have found many benefits from taking Pebs & Joe to these classes. Not only do they learn, but we’re really working on their socialization with doggies of all ages and sizes, and it helps ensure they get some exercise and stay in good, healthy shape!

Despite the thirty mile an hour winds on Saturday, Pebbles and Joey had to attend their final exam for the current training course. For the first time ever, they both passed on every single challenge – from sitting while your owner greets someone, to sitting, staying and then coming when called, to walking through a crowd without being distracted. They both did very well!

On a related note, I have to share the website that Pete just finished for our trainer, Vicky! We’ve been working with Vicky for almost a year, and we just love her! She has a laid back attitude, absolutely loves and sees the potential in every dog she meets. Pebbles and Joey are pretty partial to her, too! Be sure to check out her new website, and if you’re in need of a good dog trainer, definitely give her a call!

Bed Head Kids!

April 2, 2009

You are invited to join us for our Bed Head Kids event on Sunday, April 19th!

Does your kiddo have a favorite outfit that they would wear everyday if you let them? Maybe they love to live in their princess dress or their batman costume? Would your squirt love to pick out an outfit that would make the “worst dressed” list?

These are the moments that we will want to remember! The moments that make us smile and laugh. Moments that will be gone before we know it.

All sessions are by appointment only. Limited times are available, so contact us today!

Shoes!!

April 1, 2009

In the summer months, when you come out to the studio you will typically find me barefoot. I find clunky and stylish shoes can be very limiting to my movement and ability to get around quickly. This is especially true since I spend a lot of time crouching, sitting and crawling on the ground during sessions and even sometimes during ordering appointments.

However, during the winter, and the chilly months, you will not find me barefoot. I hate having cold feet! You’ll either find me wearing my fun, colorful, crazy looking socks or lately I’ve found comfort in Converse shoes. They are so flexible, it’s almost like being barefoot, but yet your feet stay warm!

So, how excited was I, when I discovered how to create my own Converse shoes!! Look what I created…Photography by Brandi shoes! They take three to five weeks to arrive, but be on the lookout for my new Photography by Brandi shoes in action!
