Rough Day!

December 4, 2009

The day of Alec’s one year session was a tough one. You could tell that he was on the verge of getting another tooth. One minute, he would be as happy and smiley as could be, the next moment, he would be whining and crying. Poor guy…that’s totally the sign of new teeth coming in. Considering the full mouth of teeth he already has, I know it’s been a rough fall for him.

Despite his pain, he pulled out the smiles and the cute expressions just enough for us to capture them!

Hand Obsessed!

December 3, 2009

Ella is a bit obsessed with her hands! She loves having them in her mouth, and not just a finger or two, but the whole hand and usually both hands! So our challenge for the session was to get her hands out of her mouth and show off that adorable smile! It took some work, but we were successful…adorable, big, gummy, open-mouth smiles!

Stubborn

December 2, 2009

John Michael definitely wins the award for being the most stubborn newborn I have photographed recently. Even though he was exhausted, he just refused to fall asleep for us. He would be on the verge of falling into la-la land when, all of a sudden, he would jerk and wake right back up with a squirm and a cry.

This back and forth dance went on for quite some time, but in the end, guess who won?!? Adorable! I got to mold and pose him, on his back and his belly, with a hat and without a hat! What a cutie!

It doesn’t matter how stubborn he was, I still think he’s precious and oh so tiny!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

November 26, 2009

What are you thankful for this year?

I’m thankful for:

- An amazing, strong husband and best friend
- Two adorable fur balls, who make me laugh and smile every day
- Supportive friends, who are always there for me
- A loving family, whether close or far away
- Another great year of business
- A crazy holiday season, even if it means I’m going crazy, too
- A roof over my head, food on my table and clothes on my back
- A year free of major illnesses and migraines
AND the invention of coffee and Starbucks!

He Needs a Shirt?!?

November 24, 2009

So what happens when you leave baby Pete’s shirt at home for the family session?!?

Well, Daddy gets to make the trip home to get it. Meanwhile, Mommy and I get to photograph a chunky monkey in all his glory…and the two older boys get to have their time in front of the camera, too.

Not to worry, baby Pete, Daddy made it back! We were still able to capture the family tradition of Mommy and Daddy laughing and smiling with their six month old in clothes!

Turning On the Charm

November 23, 2009

Sophia is all about charming the camera! She loves striking crazy poses and making cheesy faces. Of course, just like all kids, sometimes she takes this to the extremes. This just means I have to work extra hard to get more relaxed expressions from her.

We had a fun time this year, joking back and forth, acting silly and funny, making faces and laughing! All resulting in some personality filled, crazy and relaxed images of Miss Sophia!

Mood Swings

November 23, 2009

Dominic cracks me up! Actually, I think it’s just the fact that he’s two, but boy does he have mood swings. One minute, he was standing there smiling, cracking up and entertaining us. The next minute, he’s done! He walks off the “set”, puts on his pouty lips and just stares at us – giving us a challenge me glare! Then he’d snap out of it and be ready to perform again. What a hoot!

Silly Girls

November 22, 2009

I have been Lily and Ava’s family photographer for years. Every fall, they come see me for their annual holiday portrait. Going a whole year in between sessions, means that when I do see them, I am just floored by how much they have grown and changed.

The one thing that has remained the same, and continues to remain the same, is their great personalities! They love to smile and laugh. I don’t think they’ve ever walked in the door being mad, sad or upset. They laugh at all my really bad jokes, and they just keep me smiling and laughing during the entire session!

In Two Months

November 21, 2009

In just two months, Landon went from being a long, skinny one month old to a chunky, round faced three month old. It always amazes me how fast they grow and change. It’s like you barely blink and they’ve grown some more!

Of course, my favorite thing about Landon is his hair. By looking at his images, you would think he just has a tiny bit of hair on the top of his head. But, NO! He has a ton of hair, but it’s all on the back, lower half part of his head! I call it his old man “do”. Not only is there a lot of it, buts it’s completely auburn tinted, natural highlights and all!

Considering Landon had croup for the entire week before his session, he was a rock star! Barely even letting out a whimper, he was definitely showing off those gummy smiles!

Surprisingly!

November 20, 2009

When I looked at the forecast for the first week of November, I was shocked to see sixties and sunny! Considering how stinky October was, warm weather and sun was a pleasant surprise.

I immediately contacted Shari, to see if there was any chance the family could get here early for their session, so we could go outdoors. Luckily it worked out perfectly! I found the one spot of shade on our property, they got here at just the right moment, everyone looked awesome…even Olive, their puppy, performed like a superstar!

We could not have asked for anything better!
