May 30, 2010

Yes, that’s right, Miss Pebbles turns four years old today!! Where has the time gone?!? I still remember when she was a teeny, tiny, two pound ball of fluff! Now, she’s a headstrong, sassy, nine pound people lover!

Pebs absolutely hated the birthday hat!!

Birthday Cake – $12.
Birthday Hat of Misery – $5.
Mommy & Daddy Acting Like Goofs – Free.
iPod Touch Playing Weird Noises to Get Her Attention – $199.
Capturing the guilty look on Pebbles face when she got caught eating her cake! – Priceless!

Pink Ballerina

May 26, 2010

Hannah gets to take Ballet lessons this summer now that she’s turned three years old! She is super excited! She just loves her tutus, twirling and walking on her toes. She was so excited to put on her super big tutu, the one that Mommy was saving just for photos. Now that she’s had her session, Hannah will be able to wear her tutu all the time.

For her birthday, Hannah got to go to the Great Wolf Lodge and go swimming! I have never seen someone so excited to go swimming in their pink striped swimsuit. Her eyes just lit up and her grin got enormous as she talked about it! What fun!

What a great reminder to enjoy the little things in life!

Jayhawks or Tennessee??

May 26, 2010

Hayden comes from a split home, one parent is a Wildcat and the other is a Jayhawk! When Hayden was 9 months old, we did a fair split and photographed him in both school colors. This year, for his five year session, he wanted to do his Jayhawk jersey with his basketball!

To start off the session, I asked Hayden about Rock Chalk and he immediately responded with “No, Tennessee!” “Tennessee, what!?!” He just cracked up laughing, and kept repeating over and over “Tennessee, Tennessee.” Even going so far as to flash me a T with his hands!

So after the session, I asked Mommy about it; she had no idea! She’s never heard him talk about Tennessee before. He’s a total sports fanatic – he told me about football, basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, volleyball, tball, baseball, etc – she thinks he must have picked up Tennessee somewhere along the way!

I don’t care, whatever it takes! He can say “Tennessee” as often as he wants if he’s going to flash me those adorable grins and giggles!

Happy Girl

May 24, 2010

Kenzie is a happy, happy girl! She just smiles all the time! I had a challenge on my hands, just trying to get a few of Kenzie not smiling. Though I’m sure Mommy gets to see the sad and mad faces sometimes, I could not pull them out of Kenzie. She would just giggle through clenched teeth!

In true happy girl fashion, Kenzie is in love with the colors purple and pink! She thinks unicorns and Barbies are pretty cool, and, if her Mommy got her a horse, it would have to be a girl and her name would be Princess!

Survey Time!

May 20, 2010

When time seems to be flying by, and my schedule is well booked, it can be challenging to not get lost in the day to day of running a business. But, it’s important to me to always be tweaking our processes, adding new products, thinking of new ideas, challenging myself and overall striving to meet and exceed your expectations.

One of the best ways I can think of to do this, is to ask you for your advice, thoughts and suggestions.

Click here for the link to this year’s survey.

I would really appreciate it if you would take a few minutes out of your day to help me by completing the survey. Your answers are certain to help us be the best studio we can be!

Stamps to the Rescue

May 18, 2010

Have you seen the new stamps the postal service has launched? They’re adorable and help with a great cause!

Every year the Postal Service creates a commemorative stamp to help raise awareness of serious social issues. This year the stamps feature photos of five cats and five dogs who were all adopted from shelters.

Their goal is to raise the awareness of the millions of shelter pets that need good homes. Nearly half of the animals that enter animal shelters are euthanized. Many of these cats and dogs would have made a wonderful pet…if only given the chance.

Join us in buying and using these adorable stamps! Help inspire someone you know to adopt a shelter animal!

When Did She Grow Up?!?

May 15, 2010

Okay, I know it has a lot to do with her new straight hair, but I’ve been photographing Miss Camille since before she was even born, and just before my very eyes she has transformed into a little girl!

One of my favorite images of Camille has always been the thumb sucking one! It was a long, hard session, but out of that came this beautiful image of her. I still look at that image and remember Camille as a baby.

Well, I can’t do that anymore. She’s growing up…and not just in size and looks. Her personality is growing by leaps and bounds, too!

Waving

May 13, 2010

Ella’s newest thing…waving hello and goodbye! She’s a pro! That little hand comes up and then little fingers pump up and down. By far one of the cutest things she does!

Despite being sick the week before, Ella pulled out the charm for her nine month session. It was full of hands in the mouth, waves, teeth grins, a few tears and even some Cheerios!
