Sleepy Baby
Julia was so funny at her three month session. We actually wanted her wide awake and alert and all she wanted to do was sleep!
We pushed her a bit and were actually able to get some really cute expressions out of her before she completely crashed. She got to the point where, if she didn’t have her binky, she was not a happy camper. Then her eyes started to do the rolling back thing and then her head started to do the bobbing thing, and before we knew it she was out!

Flying Baby
Mommy definitely got her workout at Annika’s four month session!
Annika was a little tired and much more interested in studying her toes than she was in looking at the camera, and smiling was definitely out of the question.
We tried lots of things to get Annika’s attention, but it wasn’t until Mommy started holding Annika up in the air that she started talking and getting excited. Mommy got in quite a few shoulder presses while holding the round faced “little” Annika up, and was definitely feeling the burn! But it was all worth it when you see those adorable expressions!

Squirmy
I’m not sure where Lauren’s trying to get to, but she’s sure going to try! At four months old, Lauren is already a squirmy wormy! Lay her on her back and she will arch, wiggle and squirm her way down. Her hands and feet move constantly, sometimes pushing, sometimes pulling.
Lauren is not a huge fan of her belly, which may be a blessing. I think if she spent much time on her belly, she’d be army crawling in no time! I expect our future sessions are going to include lots of chasing!!

Grand Central Station
This week, the studio has really felt like Grand Central Station! I have literally had pick-ups every 30 minutes to an hour for the last few days. It’s kept me crazy-busy, but it’s such an awesome feeling, because it means holiday cards are headed out the door!
Pulling It All Out!
The morning of Adele’s session, she woke up early, complaining that her tummy did not feel very well. Mommy and Daddy determined that she must have eaten something the day before that did not agree with her. Miss Adele travels from Minnesota to have her session with me, so unfortunately, she didn’t have a lot of options for rescheduling. After crashing with a morning nap, and finding some things that agreed with her tummy, Mommy and Adele headed out for her session.
Mommy gave me the heads up, and I was prepared to take it slow and easy, but Miss Adele…she was ready to perform! She worked the camera, flashing me smiles and adorable expressions the entire time. If Mommy hadn’t told me, I would have never known that Adele had been unwell that morning!

Mobile!
Robert learned how to walk way before his first birthday, so, at his first birthday session, he was cruising! Mobile does not even begin to describe him. Speed demon would be more appropriate. We chased him all over the studio! Being asked to hold still was not something he was fond of at all.
There were only two times where we found him holding still. One was when I brought out my big blue chair…he liked sitting in it! Though he’d frequently slouch down like a couch potato, and we’d have to prop him back up, but at least he held still for a little bit. The second time was in front of the birthday cake! He spent quite some time checking it out, tasting it, destroying it and even eating a little bit!

All Grown Up
Yep, this is probably the last time this family will have a family portrait session done without any additional in-laws or grandchildren. Not that there are any on the way, yet! But I have no doubt that these boys will be finding some adorable girls to add to their relaxed, laid back family!
I had a blast photographing these four! We laughed, smiled, talked and laughed some more! They were all great sports, cuddling in close, holding awkward poses (thanks Ian!) and, best of all, they followed directions fabulously!
It’s so different working with four grown ups who actually listen and do what I ask. I’m so used to having little kids that I have to entertain and play games with. It definitely makes for a fun, relaxed session!

Another Older Sibling
This fall, I have been lucky to have the opportunity to photograph some older siblings. Their younger siblings have come in for senior photos, or their birthday sessions, but the older siblings don’t have any excuses to bring them in…until they are at the studio for a family session.
I enjoy taking some time at the end of the session, to just work with them! Their age is not the norm for me, but I love talking with them, getting to know them and just having some fun.
Alex was no different! His younger brother, Ian, came in a few months ago for his senior photos, but I did not get to photograph Alex when he graduated. I had a great time spending a little one on one time with Alex!

Been MIA
Yes, I’ve been neglecting my blog for almost a week and a half! I can’t tell you how much it drives me crazy that I haven’t posted anything since Thanksgiving. I have lots of photos and even some fun project updates to share with you.
BUT…
I have been up to my elbows in holiday card designing, printing, sorting and delivering!! As of today, I have officially placed my last order for cards. (Well, except for my own – still need to do those!)
Now, I just have a few holiday gift orders to finish and then I will be back to working on slide shows…which means back to blog posting!! So, don’t go far and stay tuned…cute babies are just around the corner!
