Brandi

Pup-A-Licious!!

June 14, 2011

Despite the weather forecast, and the overcast, gray skies, we could not have asked for a more perfect day! The temperatures were just right, the southern breeze was nice and, with the exception of about 30 seconds of sprinkles that fell from the sky, there was no rain at our fourth annual Helping Paws event!!

Thirty-four four-legged cuties graced our studio with their adorable faces, expressions, tongues and big personalities!! We had only two kitties this year, but they were beautiful kitties with plenty of spunk! We had a four pound Papillion and a ninety pound Golden Retriever. We had all black dogs and all white dogs. We had fun, crazy hair cuties, and sleek, smooth coat cuties. We had well trained show dogs and energy filled, never stopping dogs. All in all, it was an amazing day with amazing cuties!!

As always, the day was made even more perfect by the fabulous donations!! I love hearing the donation shopping stories. Our attendees always seem to have so much fun looking for, and shopping for, the perfect donations. AND, it shows!! Another year, another amazing pile of donations – from toys to blankets to treats to collars to grooming supplies. Thank you all, so very much!! I can not wait to make the big Santa Claus delivery to Wayside Waifs!

To my fantastic helpers…who keep coming back every year to support me…Helping Paws would not be a successful event with you. It means the world to me that you are always there to support me…I wouldn’t be who I am without you! (Thank you…Tracy, Lori, Chris, Bert & Pete!)

A big thank you also goes out to all of our partners who donated goodies to stuff our goodie bags full! Each furry kiddo, that attended Helping Paws, was sure to leave with a bag full of awesomeness!!

Waggiewear, we love your collars, and think it’s just awesome that you give a collar to all of our puppy participants!!

Becky and Sunflower Creations, your fun bandanas, that just slip right on the collar, are perfect for every stylish doggie!

Thank you Blackbob Pet Hospital, Personable Pets Training, Tails R’ Waggin, Natural Pet Food & Supply and Gentle Dog Training for your treats and fun goodies, they helped stuff our goodie bags full!!

Of course, no goodie bag would be complete without the Photography by Brandi blue and green! Each kiddo walked away with either a blue or green ball or a furry mouse! Not to mention, I must spoil them all with treats!! Happy eating kiddos!!

Huge Kudos to everyone who made this year’s Helping Paws a day to remember!!

I think (knock on wood) that the cold temperatures are finally leaving us, and are being replaced by beautiful warm days, bright sunny skies and beautiful greens! That means it is time for our Helping Paws (One Lick at a Time) event! This is a great opportunity to have a cherished portrait created of your four-legged, furry child while supporting Wayside Waifs, a local no kill shelter.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 12th. We will be holding our Helping Paws event! Watch our blog, and your email inbox, for details about how you can schedule an appointment to have your dog or cat photographed at the studio.

Just Released – The Step Up Date!

April 23, 2011

The date for the annual Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk has been released! It will be Saturday, October 29th! (Please note, this also happens to be my birthday. As if you needed a better reason to join our team…supporting our clients with Down syndrome and celebrating my birthday, it’s a two for one!!)

Yes, I know, it’s still many months away, but last year was such a great experience, I can’t wait for this year to top it! Last year, we had 24 team members and raised $2,030…which I was completely thrilled with! This year, will you help me beat that?!?

Mark your calendars! More details and the link for signing up will be coming soon!

Just in case you need some motivation to participate, here is the link to last year’s event. We had a blast!

A Bed Head Success!

April 17, 2011

Our Bed Head Kids event turned out to be a perfect Sunday! The temperatures were nice and, even though there was a period of grey skies and some crazy wind, everyone made it into the studio safe, sound and dry!

We had a variety of participants…including a rock star, a soccer player, a monkey, a princess, and a even a fireman, just to name a few. Everyone was dressed in their best, with the necessary accessories, and even a little hair color dye!

It was fun to let them all be loose and goofy! I got roared at 100 times. I danced like a monkey. But best of all, I had fun! There were tons of laughs, smiles and fun kid poses!

I hope these images put smiles on your faces!

Bed Head is Sunday!

April 6, 2011

Our fun filled, Bed Head Kids event, is this Sunday, April 10th! I have two last minute openings available! First come, first serve for a 2:30 PM and a 3 PM time. Sessions are by appointment only, so be sure to drop me an email right away and I’ll get you on the schedule.

Does your kiddo have a favorite outfit that they would wear everyday if you let them? Maybe they love to live in their princess dress or their Batman costume? Would your squirt love to pick out an outfit that would make the “worst dressed” list? These are the moments that we will want to remember!

Any and all kiddos, three years or older, are invited to participate. Kids must pick out their entire outfit by themselves, with no influence from parents. They are also encouraged to style their hair any way they want. We can’t wait to see the unique personalities of each kid coming out in their own personal style!

Steppin’ Up!

September 26, 2010

I first have to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk this past Saturday! For our second year of hosting our own team, I could not be more proud! We had a cool two dozen walk participations…that’s right, 24 awesome folks walked with the Photography by Brandi team to help us promote awareness and acceptance of people with Down syndrome.

Not only that, but as a team, between registration and donations, we raised $2,030…you rock team!

The day could not have started out more perfect! Blue skies, no wind, nice temperatures! Though, the clouds to the West seemed ominous, and everyone wondered if rain was on it’s way, we stayed nice and dry. The sun was in and out a little bit, but the wind stayed mild, with just a nice breeze to keep us cool.

There was ice cream to be eaten. Popsicles to be devoured. Hamburgers, brats, fruit and chips to fill up bellies! Rock walls were climbed. Bouncers were conquered. Success was seen at the bean bag toss, when it wasn’t being used as a lounger!?! Fun, smiles and laughing were in abundance!

Yes, that’s me with my Starbucks. Thank you Tracy!! That definitely helped with the 5 AM wake up…to be out the door by o’dark thirty!

During the one mile stroll around Arrowhead, Tanner kept our team moving! He held onto our banner and marched us straight ahead. Setting a great pace that kept even the adults moving!

Of course, about half way through, Tanner felt that he had successfully led his team to victory and it was time for a victory nap!

Lily made it the entire mile with only her two little feet and lots of adult encouragement!

Riah got to ride on Daddy’s shoulders more than once!

Baby Liam even joined in the walk! Though I think he had the best deal. He successfully slept through all the noise and excitement of the walk, while being carried by Mommy!

I could not have asked for a better day, a better group of people surrounding me or a better organization to be supporting! Thank you to everyone!!
