Some Baby Fun

November 30, 2011

I love talking to kids about their pregnant Mommies and their soon to be new siblings. It’s always entertaining to hear their perspective.

My conversation with Meika was entertaining and pretty on point. I asked Meika what Mommy had in her belly and she said, “A baby.” I asked if it was a baby dinosaur and she said, “No, it was a baby girl. If it was a dinosaur, then Mommy would have an egg.”

I asked Meika if Baby Sister was wearing a swimming suit inside Mommy’s belly and she said, “No, she’s naked!” I then asked if Meika had been inside Mommy’s belly as well. She said, “Yes, and I was naked then, too!”

Meika is definitely looking forward to being a big sister, and I’m pretty sure she’s going to be an adoring, loving big sister!

Baby Surprise

May 24, 2011

Not only did Mommy & Daddy wait to find out if they were having a boy or a girl with baby number two, (which, by the way, turned out to be a girl!) but Mommy also had me do a session with her, big brother Camden and baby belly number two as a surprise for Daddy! Mommy looked so radiant with her maternity glow, that I know Daddy’s going to love having these special memories of Mommy and her two babies!

It took a little coaxing to get almost two year old Camden to hug and kiss Mommy’s belly, but after a few bribes, some silliness and smiles, we captured a few precious moments!

Oh, Baby!

A third little baby, a baby girl, is going to be arriving soon, and Abby & Matthew could not be more excited! I was told that they were going to help change diapers and hold her when she cries, and really help Mommy out. I imagine there will also be quite a bit of loving and smothering going on!

Abby & Matthew have never ending energy. Adding a third to the mix is definitely going to be keeping Mommy on her toes! Not to mention, future family portrait sessions will be very entertaining!

A Big Kid!

January 4, 2011

I would imagine this future Momma is going to have her hands full, with a little angelic girl and an ornery big Daddy! I only got a sneak peek into Matt’s ornery side, but I bet, when his little girl has him wrapped around her finger, Daddy’s going to be turning into a big kid right along side her! Hopefully they won’t get into too much trouble together!

Crazy Weather

October 5, 2010

Since Baby W is going to be a fall baby, with a due date of late October, Mommy really wanted some outdoor maternity photos. All day, I watched the radar, anticipating the forecasted rain, but hoping against all hope that it would stay away.

We started out in-studio with some sweet Mommy and Daddy time, and then we went outside. The weather was certainly finicky, but we made it through! We had huge gusts of wind, followed by moments of complete stillness. The sun shone bright, or it hid behind the clouds giving of a dark ominous glow. The rain in the forecast threatened, but never arrived.

I noticed that, as soon as we wrapped up the session and went inside, the sky turned a dark shade of grey and the sun went away! We were very lucky, just barely squeezing in the entire session!!

To Each Their Own

August 10, 2010

It always amazes me how maternity bellies can be so many different shapes and sizes; from the tiny basketball under the shirt, to the, “Are you sure you’re not caring twins?” belly! It’s just amazing how very unique every woman is when it comes to pregnancy and their bellies. You have the women who get the line down the middle, you have some belly buttons that completely pop out and you have round bellies and oblong bellies. Everyone is unique and different.

It doesn’t matter how many bellies I photograph, each and every one of them has their own characteristics. Baby Landon’s belly is no different. Baby Landon has insisted on hanging out on the right side of Mommy’s belly, causing the right side of Mommy’s belly to be more round than the left side. Silly baby! You know there’d be more room in that tiny belly if you were to spread out!

In Came The Storm!

July 24, 2010

The very first look Quinn gave me was an adorable, coy little smile. I should have known that he had the tools to reel me in! Those curls, his big eyes, that smile and even the missing front tooth are enough to make you melt.

At just 18 months old, Quinn really was a rock star at baby’s maternity session. He struck poses, smiled his big grin and even interacted with Mommy’s belly a little.

But, when I turned my back on him to get some images of just Mommy and Daddy, he had the opportunity to go through all my bins! He was very interested in everything, so everything got pulled out! When I looked back, it looked like a tornado had gone through the studio. There were brushes, hairspray, CDs, baby power and wipes everywhere! My favorite part is the expression he gives. It just says, “What?! I was curious!”

Big Brother

June 17, 2010

Clayton is super excited to be a big brother! He told me that next month, on July 8th, they’re going to take his baby sister out of his Mommy’s belly and he’s going to welcome her with kisses and hugs!

Not that she doesn’t already get lots of hugs and kisses from big brother Clayton. Just from the short time they were with me for their session, I saw lots of spoiling going on!

I know Mommy doesn’t feel this way, but I just couldn’t get over how tiny she is! Definitely all that’s in there is little miss baby sister! I’m with Clayton, I can’t wait to meet her!

Baby Sister

March 19, 2010

Gaby’s Mommy is expecting a baby sister any day now! Even though it might be a tough transition for Gaby, as she goes from only child to sharing, she is already madly in love with her sister. “I love her, because she’s my sister!”

She puts her head up to Mommy’s belly and hears her sister saying things to her as well! Based on what Gaby says, her sister is also madly in love with her!
