Very Attentive!

January 8, 2009

Baby Pierce could not have it better…he has two extremely attentive older siblings! Drake and Malia adore their little baby brother and could not love him more. Which is SO awesome, but not necessarily so helpful when you’re trying to capture a sleeping, peaceful baby. Lots of little hands are immediately there to help soothe baby Pierce when he cries. They are there to help get him out of his car seat and they are even there to help change clothes and diapers. I can definitely say Mommy has two great helpers, and Pierce is going to be living the high life for awhile!

Little Lily

December 11, 2008

Lily was born six weeks early at a whopping 4 pounds 11 ounces. After spending 17 days in the NICU, she finally got to come home. Although she had gained weight, she was still only 5 pounds 1 ounce when she came out for her newborn session.

I absolutely love the images of Daddy holding Lily, because it gives perspective and really shows just how little she is. I know that in just a few months, Mom and Dad are going to look back at these images in amazement at how teeny, tiny Lily was!

Baby Number Three

December 2, 2008

Alec looks just like his brother and sister did when they were babies, except for one thing…he's quite a bit bigger! When Alec was born, he weighed 10 pounds 4 1/2 ounces. He did lose about a pound before leaving the hospital, but has slowly been putting it back on, just enough to give him a nice round face and some great back rolls! (Why is it that this is the only time that it's awesome to have a round face and back rolls?)

Alec was very alert during his session! Quite amazing, considering he was only five days old!

To me, the best part of the session was getting to hear Alec's cry. It is SO cute. It's just this little chirp, and sounds exactly like a bird! I couldn't help but laugh every time I heard it!

Silly Baby

November 28, 2008

Lila started off as happy as could be - eyes wide open, staring right at the camera! But about half way through, she decided, wait "I don't like this naked thing!" So she started fussing, though I did get to hear some real cries, she also had a lot of fake cries! The fake cries were completely cracking us up, they were so petite and sporadic, completely different than her real cry. With a little bit of work, a blanket to cover her up, a binky for her to suck on and perfect timing, we got through the naked baby "crisis."

Stiff Neck

November 9, 2008

It is always amazing to me how babies can sleep with their heads at the oddest angles. If I slept like that, my neck would be killing me.

Felix kept his head and neck at the oddest of angles during his entire portrait session. I don't know how he did it, but his head was almost turned past 90 degrees, and the angle looked really odd and uncomfortable. Mommy and I had to keep turning his head back to center. I could get a couple of images, and then he would just turn it right back!

Of course, we had to capture a few of Felix with his very proud big brother, Mikey!

Little Man

August 28, 2008

AJ was born weighing 5 lbs 7 ounces, and came home from the hospital at 5 lbs. Just a few days later he was ready for his newborn session! Mommy and Daddy brought him into the studio, and I couldn’t believe how little he was. So little and so cute! He has this great hair - it’s not black, which is the newborn baby norm, but instead it’s this soft shade of brown with some natural highlights. It’s so cute!

Look at the size of AJ’s foot compared to daddy’s thumb….amazing!

He was a trooper, putting up with all the chaos that two older sisters bring!

Chunky Monkey

August 13, 2008

I’m sure you know that I LOVE chubby babies! They are just so cute and squeezable! Jack was no different. At just over two months, he’s weighing in around 12-13 pounds. You can certainly tell just by looking at his cute double chin, chunky thighs and rolly arms. He displays his chub proudly!

Jack was very interested in where I was and where the camera was. His eyes followed me all around, whether I was standing above him or to the side, he could find me! Which resulted in some great images showing off his big, blue eyes. It did make it difficult to capture different angles of him, but as always, we made it work!

Funny Faces

July 30, 2008

When Broc was born he was 8 lbs 8 ounces, so you can imagine his chunky size at eight weeks! I love all his chub! During his entire session he was making funny faces. He has found his tongue and loves to play with it, which results in many weird mouth positions. All of his faces are so adorable and fun to capture!

Early Surprise

July 2, 2008

Courtney’s due date was June 10th, so when her water broke on April Fool’s Day, it was a bit of a surprise! Colton arrived ready to conquer the world on April 4th, weighing in at 3 lbs 7 ounces. After spending quite a few weeks in the NICU, he is now home and doing very well!

He was so cute at his portrait session - content, easy going and laid back! Lots of small baby grins filled his face, and his big blue eyes sparkled for the camera. Hard as it is to believe, Colton has the start of a double chin. Considering his birth size, this is definitely something for him to be proud of! He’s on his way to becoming a roly-poly, chunky baby!

Peeing Machine!

June 20, 2008

I don’t think I’ve ever had a newborn baby pee as much as Blaise did at his session. It was crazy, but also quite humorous as well. Mommy and Daddy both got "wet" multiple times, but they were very good sports! Sometimes you have to be a little uncomfortable for adorable photos!

In addition to being a peeing machine, he also made some of the funniest faces - he was full of crazy expressions! But in the end, I was still able to capture the sweet innocence that Mommy and Daddy will want to remember.
