Opinionated!
At just five days old, Miss Allison may be the laid back third baby, but she’s a bit opinionated about how you hold her, and if you’re messing with her, she’s going to let you know what she thinks!
She fought us for quite awhile, refusing to just give in and let us pose her…but eventually, there came a point where she threw up her hands and said, “Okay, do what you want!”
It’s a good thing we moved quickly! Shortly after, she decided she was hungry again, and from that point on, she was wide awake, making lots of funny faces!
Baby Sister
Big Sister Morgan is still checking out Baby Sister Alexandra. She knows where the baby is, and she’s definitely interested in what the baby is doing. She’s also very into kissing her and touching her, which gives her the chance to learn the word gentle! She pats the baby and touches the baby, but her hand just has a lot of force behind it. She’s not trying to be hard; she’s just 18 months old and is still working it out!
The good news is that baby sister seems to be going with the flow! With an active big sister and a puppy dog at home, Alexandra is learning to be patient and easy going!
She gave us a little challenge to start off her session, but after filling up her belly, and a little cuddling on Mommy’s chest, she drifted off to sleep, ready for some camera action!
Teeny, Tiny
At a birth weight of 5 lbs 9 ounces and three and a half weeks early, Henry is a teeny, tiny little man! For his weight and his small size, he actually seems pretty long, but of course that just makes his legs and arms look even skinner!
He was a rock star at his very first portrait session! We could not have asked for better cooperation. He had a few squirmy moments, and tried to put his hand in front of his face more than once, but those times were so few and far between!
I just love the images where Mommy & Daddy are holding him! It just captures his teeny, tiny size so well. For years to come, as he grows and changes, Mommy & Daddy will never forget how he started out as this skinny, little man!
Laid Back Little Man
When you’re the third baby boy in the family, you don’t have much of a choice, but to be a laid back, go with the flow, little man!
Blake has two older brothers who just adore him! Though, their idea of fun did not really include getting photos taken. It’s hard to be patient and quiet when you’re almost three and six years old and when all you really want to do is go outside and run. But Carter and Jack pulled through and gave us a few moments of calm and sweet with Baby Blake!
Of course, Blake worked the camera! Sweet, squishy, open mouth, serious mouth, he knows how to pull you in and make you just want to love on him!
Sorry About the Squeaks!
Poor baby Elliott was having some gassy problems when she arrived for her newborn session. She was a sweet little lady, totally in love with the cuddle! However, there were definitely positions that hurt her little, gas-filled tummy and others that relieved it! (For such a tiny thing, you would be amazed at the sounds she can make!)
Despite the gas, with some encouragement and soothing, she drifted off to sleep and eventually let me twist and turn her to my heart’s content!
Asleep At Last
Mister George gave us a challenge for sure! It took a good hour and a half to convince him to fall asleep. He wasn’t fussy, he was just content to lie there staring at us. The only problem was that he insisted on having his hands in front of his face, hiding more than half of his adorable baby face.
We filled that belly full as could be, warmed up the room until we were beyond sweaty and off to la-la land he went! He’d twitch, and move a little bit every once in awhile, but for the most part, he was out! I think being awake for an hour and half did him in!
Squeezable Baby Parts
As all adorable baby parts go, Austin has some cute ones! I just couldn’t resist sharing. From his neck rolls, to his tiny tush, to his chubby cheeks…they’re all squeezably fantastic!
Twitchy
I’m nicknaming Austin “Twitchy!”
He was amazingly calm and relaxed for the majority of his session. I only heard a couple of tiny cries from him. But, he was at his best when you left him alone! Just leave him to hang out and pose himself and he was a happy little man.
Of course, I am just too much of a perfectionist! I like to move their little hands and feet right into the perfect spots. Every time I would touch Austin, he would twitch. His arms and legs would punch the air and then he’d settle right back into place. We eventually worked out a system, but not until he had given me a few good punches, right to the chin!
Squishy Face
There’s nothing that Vivian loves more than curling up into a little ball! She’s a huge fan of swaddling and I quickly determined that her favorite positions were any where she was snug as a bug.
Of course, when she’s all curled up, she gets this adorable squishy face! Her cheeks are all round and squishy and her lips pout out!
It really doesn’t matter what face she makes, she’s adorable!
Only A Week
This little man was only a week old when I photographed him, but Landon was convinced that he was actually a three month old!
Landon kept lifting up his head and trying to hold it up on his own. Even when he was asleep and I’d try to roll him over to his tummy, he would try to lift his head! He still looked like a bobble head, but he kept trying!
Even though he had a full belly, and was exhausted as could be, he had that wide eyed look, checking out everything around him. Unfortunately, he also had the crossed eyes to go with it.
Landon refused to fall asleep! I really think he was afraid he was going to miss something. It took everything we had to get him to take a cat nap…and even that was short lived.
But not to worry, the cat naps were just long enough to get adorable images with a relaxed head and neck and no crossed eyes!!
