Silly Kid

November 12, 2013

It is almost impossible to get a serious image of Adele. This girl never stops smiling, laughing or talking!

She tells knock, knock jokes till she runs out…which is a long time, because the knock, knock jokes will start out cute and funny, and then they transition into things that make no sense at all.

She asks questions until you run out of answers. Who is that girl? Why did you photograph her? Why did she change dresses? The whys go on and on and on.

Then, when we transition to silly sayings, between Adele and I coming up with one liners, the laughter just fills the room!

Just a Bit Cold!

October 30, 2012

Ugh, Kansas weather, one day it can be 80 degrees and sunny, the next 60 degrees and cloudy! Unfortunately for us, Adele & Robert’s session was scheduled for the day the temperatures decided to drop 20 degrees…not to mention they dropped an additional 10 degrees just while we were doing the session!

Luckily Robert and Adele were born in Minnesota and spent many winters braving the Minnesota cold! So, although they were a bit cold and did some shivering, overall they braved the cold and the wind and turned on the charm!

By the end, there were quite a few red noses and I know I couldn’t feel my fingers! Thank you October for bringing us 50 degree temperatures! For all of you who complained about the hot summer…I’m blaming this on you!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

December 22, 2011

When working with siblings, it’s helpful when you have an older sibling who listens fairly well, and a younger sibling who copies whatever the older sibling is doing. In the case of Adele and Robert, this is exactly what I had…I also like to refer to it as the “Monkey See, Monkey Do!”

Of course, when everyone is following my instructions perfectly, this works out to my advantage. When older sister, Adele, starts to get squirrely, then I end up with a couple of squirrels on my hands!

Luckily, we had just enough listening and cooperating to offset the goofy and silly!

Pulling It All Out!

December 10, 2010

The morning of Adele’s session, she woke up early, complaining that her tummy did not feel very well. Mommy and Daddy determined that she must have eaten something the day before that did not agree with her. Miss Adele travels from Minnesota to have her session with me, so unfortunately, she didn’t have a lot of options for rescheduling. After crashing with a morning nap, and finding some things that agreed with her tummy, Mommy and Adele headed out for her session.

Mommy gave me the heads up, and I was prepared to take it slow and easy, but Miss Adele…she was ready to perform! She worked the camera, flashing me smiles and adorable expressions the entire time. If Mommy hadn’t told me, I would have never known that Adele had been unwell that morning!

Goldfish Crackers

January 20, 2010

Our number one tool for bribing at Adele’s two year session! I am not opposed to bribing kids into cooperation, especially when they are the age of two! It gives them the sense that they are in charge (which they usually are), but also means that we get some good cooperation, adorable expressions and great personality out of them!

Adele went through at least half of a big bag of Goldfish crackers during her session. We would give her a couple of crackers, wait for her to chew and swallow them, get maybe two minutes of participation and cooperation, and then she would be begging for more!

It was a slow process, but it worked!

Baby Number II

October 20, 2009

My good friends, Cheri and Brian, are expecting baby number two! With both kiddos, they have found out during the pregnancy if it’s a boy or a girl, but they haven’t revealed the name. This means some sort of nickname has to be created. With the first baby, it was Baby M. This time, it’s Baby M II. I think it’s a good thing that they’re not planning on having a lot of babies, because I’m not sure I would know enough Roman numerals to figure out which number we’re on!

We know they’re having a boy this time. The perfect addition to their family, since Baby M was an adorable baby girl, Miss Adele!

With Daddy’s crazy tall height, and the fact that Mommy looks like she has a basketball in her tummy, I’ve determined that they’re going to be giving birth to the next famous basketball player! (I know Mommy just loves me making fun of her belly!)

I can’t wait to meet the little man!!

Bringing the Cold Air

January 16, 2009

Miss Adele came down from Minnesota to see me for her one year session. Unfortunately, she brought the cold air with her. On the day of her session, it was a whopping ten degrees outside! However, her smile and personality were not affected by the cold temperatures. (I guess she’s used to those Minnesota winters, being born in the middle of one!)

She has the most entertaining giggle. When she gets going it doesn’t stop. It’s a very petite, almost high pitched giggle. It really made me laugh, which makes her giggle more…which results in adorable images!

I just LOVE her big lip!

Crazy Adult Alert!

August 23, 2008

Adele was not interested in us at all! She was interested in the tutu, in the ceiling, in the windows, in her reflection, anything except the three adults acting ridiculously crazy trying to get her attention! But that did not stop us from trying!

After a short break for a bottle and a clean diaper, she turned on some charm – making tons of funny faces, sucking on her bottom lip and talking to us! She definitely knows how to show off those big, blue eyes!

Minnesota Baby!

January 17, 2008

Miss Adele! Such a sweet, sweet baby! In the 24 hours that we spent visiting baby Adele, in the freezing cold of Minnesota, I only heard her cry once. Even that cry was just a whimper, when mommy was changing her diaper. I don’t blame her, she was probably cold! That’s why my handy space heater traveled to Minnesota with me! It’s a necessary item for newborn sessions. The adults in the room may be sweating, but the baby is always warm and happy!

Minnesota Cold!

January 3, 2008

Oh, wow! Upon arrival in Minnesota the temperature was a whole 1.5 degrees, with a wind chill between NEGATIVE 20 & 30 – CRAZINESS! The high got up to a whopping 10 degrees. I would either be cold all the time, or have a heating bill that would send me to the poor house. Everywhere you look, all you see is snow! It hasn’t gotten warm enough for any of it to melt, so it just keeps adding on and adding on.

But getting to see baby Adele was all worth it! She is such a sweet baby. I only heard her cry twice, and even those cries were pretty weenie! Her older four legged sister, Molly, is not too interested in her right now, but I’m sure once she’s old enough to play, Molly will be very excited!

Here’s a sneak peek of Adele, stay tuned for “professional” photos of baby Adele!
