Being Themselves

July 23, 2013

Any time I spend the majority of a session laughing, I know it’s been a good session! Getting Allison and Camille to giggle, scrunch their noses and let loose is always my goal! They both have great smiles and their laughs always make me laugh!

I told the girls their sessions were silly and relaxed…which was absolutely perfect. It doesn’t mean that we don’t capture serious images as well, it just means that everyone is in their element…being themselves!

Growing and Changing

July 30, 2012

The favorite part of my job is having the opportunity to watch kids grow and change. Typically, I will see the kids once a year, and every time they walk in the door, I am shocked by how much they have grown and changed.

Of course, the thing that I have run into most recently is in relation to height! Being in business for over ten and a half years, I have some kiddos that I have been around for quite some time. These little tiny ones, that I used to have to kneel down on the ground for, are giving me hugs and the top of their heads are grazing my chin! One of these days, one of them is going to be taller than me!

These two beautiful ladies have changed a ton over the years. They started out looking a lot alike when they were younger, but they have slowly developed their own looks and their own personalities.

Allison (whose head now grazes my chin!) is the talker of the two. She’s not afraid to share or tell stories, and she won’t leave out any details!

Camille is the quiet, more observant of the two, but she’s slowly coming out of her shell. I think she’s still going to be the strong silent type, but that doesn’t mean she’s not 100% sure of herself and everyone around her!

Sweet & Silly

July 13, 2011

Camille and I laughed and smiled throughout her session. Camille is naturally a very sweet little lady. She asks about me, she gives me big hugs, she asks about the new puppy, and wants to know all our doggies’ names. When the camera comes out, she starts with a nice, polite smile, but I know there’s something more deep down!

We talked. She answered questions. We joked, and then I “threatened” to tickle her. I quickly discovered that just poking the air like I was poking her, with a good sound effect, was just as effective! Out came the silly, fun and maybe even a little sassy Camille!

When Did She Grow Up?!?

May 15, 2010

Okay, I know it has a lot to do with her new straight hair, but I’ve been photographing Miss Camille since before she was even born, and just before my very eyes she has transformed into a little girl!

One of my favorite images of Camille has always been the thumb sucking one! It was a long, hard session, but out of that came this beautiful image of her. I still look at that image and remember Camille as a baby.

Well, I can’t do that anymore. She’s growing up…and not just in size and looks. Her personality is growing by leaps and bounds, too!

Little Sis, Big Sis

May 2, 2009

It’s only been six months since the last time I saw Camille, but I was completely shocked by how much she has changed. She has grown SO tall! Before she would sometimes be shy, but now she is very outgoing and she is talking up a storm.

Camille and her big sister, Allison, have always looked similar, but what amazed me this time were some of things Camille would say. Speaking with her took me back to some of Allison’s past sessions as I remembered hearing those exact statements from Camille’s big sister. Despite the similarities, there is still plenty that make Camille unique! I can’t wait to see how Camille changes over the next few years. I know that she will become her own little unique person.

New Hair-Do

September 2, 2008

This year Allison turns seven! In celebration of big kid status, she had her hair cut shorter! It’s not long and past her shoulders anymore, it’s a short cute bob. It makes her look a lot more grown up!

As you can see, she’s got the sass to accompany the new do! We had a great time, laughing, joking and having fun during her session.

Little sis even jumped in for a few. Can you believe Allison had the exact same hair-do, when she was that age? Not anymore!

May 17, 2008

My favorite Oklahoma client came for a visit! This time it was for sweet and crazy Camille’s three year session. It took Camille a little while to warm up, but once Mommy left the room, and it was just Camille and I…her silly, fun personality came out.

I had to go back into my archives and retrieve Camille’s older sister, Allison’s, three year images. Camille wore the same dress Allison wore four years ago, because Mommy and I have a plan to create an awesome wall display of large images from their three year sessions. You can’t tell they’re sisters, can you? (Note the sarcasm!)

Back to OK!

June 27, 2007

This weekend took us back to Oklahoma, to reveal slide shows and images to everyone we had photographed back in May. It was a great trip! It was a whirlwind, with constant activity and not much rest and relaxation, but it was a blast! Everyone loved their images, and I can’t wait to get all of their portraits created, so they can hang them on their walls.

Our home away from home in Oklahoma is at the Yates Family home! Shawna is awesome about opening her home to Pete and I and making us feel so welcome. Her hospitality and attention to every little detail are unmatched. Our bathroom towels were the Photography by Brandi blue and green. She prepares great snacks for all of our clients to enjoy with color coordinated napkins! She lets us completely rearrange her family room, whether it be to set up for portrait sessions or ordering appointment – even high jacking her flat screen tv! Her daughters make us feel like part of the family, with plenty of hugs and kisses! Thanks, Shawna, you are AWESOME!

Still Madly In Love!

June 14, 2007

Two adorable high energy children and 8 1/2 years of marriage, and these two are still madly in love. After photographing their family, we spent a little time with mom and dad. They were so into each other, they barely noticed I was there! It’s so nice to see such love!

Where The Wind Blows Sweeping The Plain!

May 10, 2007

What a whirlwind week this is! We return from Illinois, unpack our bags, do laundry and turn around and pack them right back up, again!

This weekend we are undertaking our first off site photography weekend! One of our great clients lives in Oklahoma, and with a little arm twisting, she convinced me to come down to her neck of the woods to photograph her family. With the news that her photographer was coming to down, there was immediate interest from her friends and family for additional photo sessions.

So now, here we are! Packing up the equipment and heading off to the OK, to do five sessions this weekend! It should be a fun filled, packed weekend! We will be heading back to the OK in June to do slide show viewings for all of our new clients!

Now we just have to hope that the weather cooperates!
