Our three little pumpkins want to wish you a Happy Halloween! May it be full of smiles, sugar and spooks!

Princess Party Time!

May 30, 2012

Our Princess Pebbles turns six years old today! I’d like to say she’s mellowing out in her older age, but that would not be a true statement at all! She’s still bossy, high strung and queen of the castle…and we love her just the way she is! We couldn’t imagine Miss Pebbles any other way!

She is the perfect mix of playful, ornery, loving, protective and charming!

Playful – Even though I know she’d never admit it willingly, she loves to play with Bruiser. They wrestle. They play tug a war with toys. She lets him pull at her muzzle and ear hair. They chase, taking turns as to who’s doing the chasing. The two of them are definitely hilarious to watch!

Ornery – Six years old and she still pulls the toilet paper. If you leave her alone with a bathroom door open, you will find the entire roll of toilet paper on the floor. Half the time it’s still in a long strand, and it’s being pulled down the hallway!

Loving – She’s the first of our pups to immediately jump in your lap if you’re sitting on the ground. She’s the first to lay down and roll over on her back for a good belly rub. She’s definitely always right by your side! She’s the one pup we’ve never had to worry about running away…she’d much rather be with you, then away from you.

Protective – It doesn’t matter if it’s the barn cat, Shadow, a neighbor’s dog, the UPS man, a friend or a stranger, she will be sure to let you know that someone is invading our space! She may not be the bravest, but her bark is definitely worse then her bite…she’s got a built in alarm system!

A Charmer – I don’t think I’ve ever seen grown women work men the way Pebbles does. She adores the male species, and she knows that she can work them! When male friends of ours come over, she gives them those big eyes, the shake of the tail and before they know it, she’s in their lap giving them kisses…yep she’s a licker and a kisser!

Missy P…we love you just the way you are, and couldn’t imagine our family without you!

Just For Fun

March 2, 2012

The pups and I had a little bit of fun on a gloomy, rainy day! First close-ups with my fisheye lens and then drowned, wet puppy photos after getting caught in the rain.

Yes, he licked my camera after this one!

Warm Winter Weather

January 22, 2012

Given my dislike of cold weather, I will be the last person to complain that this winter has (knock on wood) been fairly mild so far. I, of course, prefer the days where it’s been in the 50s and 60s and wish there were a few more days like that.

I do worry that one of these days, we are going to pay for this mild weather and cold temperatures and snow are going to bombard us, but in the meantime I will enjoy my 60 degree winter walks with my pups.

During one such walk, I took advantage of the warm sunlight and spent some fun time with my camera.

Welcome 2012!

We hope you celebrated the New Year with as much confetti and fun as we did!

From Princess Pebbles

December 26, 2011

We wanted to share the second edition of the Princess Pebbles Holiday Newsletter with all of our online friends! Hope your holidays are full of love and laughter!

Thank you all for the awesome feedback to my very first holiday newsletter last year! Due to the overwhelming, positive response, I have been allowed to write the second edition of the Princess Pebbles Holiday Newsletter.

This year, my world was turned upside down. I call it the year of the invaders! First, if you remember from last year’s letter, we had started experiencing a few sightings of a black cat hanging out around our barn. Well, against my better judgment, the cat (her name is Shadow) has permanently adopted our barn as her place to live, and can frequently be seen sunbathing in the grass. She loves to tease me by running just outside of my reach anytime I go for a walk. She often comes right up to the front porch and sticks her nose against the glass, staring into my home. I know that she does this to get me in trouble, because if I make even a peep to announce her presence, I am corrected and told to be nice. (Not fair…she’s invading my domain!)

The second invader of the year to rock my world was the little brother that Mommy and Daddy brought home. What?!? Who asked me?!? Okay, fine, I will admit, I kind of like him…he’s worked his way into my heart. Mommy and Daddy named him Bruiser, and he’s grown up to look just like a “Bruiser”. Of course, most of his size comes from his fluffy hair. Mommy hasn’t let the groomers give him a shave yet, so he’s sporting a big 80s crimp-do! He has tons of energy and loves to play. He is also pretty good about being quiet and resting anytime Mommy has clients over. Wrestling with Joey and I is definitely one of his favorite activities; the second would have to be playing fetch…the boy never stops. He’s a pretty sweet guy, so I guess we’ll keep him, but I’m putting my paw down…three is enough. Don’t even think about a fourth!

This summer, a two legged invader joined Mommy’s work team. They called him Bert the Intern, and he worked in the office a couple of days every week for the whole summer. I liked this invader…he was unable to resist my charms. If I sat right at his feet, gave him a long stare, and wagged my tail, he was putty! I really enjoyed having him around. I heard he went off to get an education from the Jayhawks…not sure what that means, but I wish he’d come back.

In the fall, there were over a hundred invaders at Mommy’s client appreciation picnic. It was a crazy day…it took my brothers and I a week of solid sleep just to recover from all the activity. It was a pretty wet and rainy day, but we still had great attendance, yummy food, personalized t-shirts, and plenty of fun. Although there were a lot of invaders, I enjoyed every minute of it. I got lots of loving from all the pint sized invaders!

Even after talking about all those major invaders, it doesn’t begin to touch on the invaders that Mommy works with on a daily basis. There were hundreds and hundreds of them, each leaving their own scent for me to check out. I recognized many smells and I’m pretty sure they have been here before. My Mommy and I think it’s awesome that they continue to come back year after year. I know Mommy loves getting to see her favorite, pint-sized, two-legged kiddos grow and change each year. In January, she’ll have been doing this photo thing for ten years! That’s how old my brother Joey is, and he’s OLD, so that must be a long time. I know that my brothers and I are Mommy’s number one fans, but it does mean a lot to me knowing that you all love and support her as much as I do!

Hope your Holidays are Pawsitively Fabulous! (Do not forget your four-legged kiddos this season…they love bones, treats, toys and LOVE!)

Love, Pebbles (and Brandi, Pete, Joey & Bruiser)

Holiday Greetings!

Growl-o-Ween

October 31, 2011

A couple of weekends ago, Three Dog Bakery hosted a Growl-o-Ween event. All four legged cuties were invited to the plaza for a costume contest, and trick or treating at participating Plaza merchants.

Being a Saturday in October, my work schedule was fully booked, but Pete, with the assistance of my sister, Lori, dressed up our cuties and headed out.

It was a beautiful day, and the kiddos had a blast meeting new friends, showing off their pirate wear and cashing in on the treats! Unfortunately, we didn’t have any contest winners, but they’re always winners in my book!

A Good Challenge

July 5, 2011

What did I do with my holiday weekend? I attempted to get a new portrait of my three kiddos all together. Let me tell you, I’ll take photographing them individually any day! All three at the same time…AUGH!!

Ah, check out these two brothers! Only time they think about laying close together…when there’s a treat bribe!

Little B is growing up! He’s definitely getting bigger, but his size is a bit deceiving…a lot of his “height” is hair!
